So last month in London I bought this foot peeling pack by Kocostar. It actually got my attention because it said 90 (!) minutes on the package. Normally I wear Sephora’s foot masks, which need to stay on for about 15 minutes. So 90 minutes was a really long time, but I managed to stay still on the couch until my timer went off.
On the package the instructions said to open up the package, take the booties out and cut them along the dotted line to open. Afterwards you’d just put them on and use the adhesive tape to secure them on your feet. Opening up the package though I immediately smelled this really strong smell of alcohol. Like walking into a pharmacy kind of scent. Be prepared to have your feet, and quite possibly your hands, smell like a hand sanitizer.
While waiting for time to pass I went on their website to do some further research. On the website they claim that in 3-4 days your dead skin will start coming off naturally after using the mask. After the 90 minutes had passed, I was kind of anxious to take them off because having a product being absorbed by your skin for 90 minutes is a very long time. What were they going to look like?
On the package it said to take them off and rinse off the excess of your feet with warm water. Taking the booties off was actually quite disappointing since I didn’t see any immediate difference and I did wear them for that long, wanting to see at least some result already. Sadly I had to wait. So on Wednesday I popped on the booties and on friday night I first noticed some skin peeling going on, but just in one place. On saturday morning I got into the shower and looking at my feet OH MY! The peeling had really started now. I tried scrubbing my feet, but basically you really just have to wait until it all comes off and embrace your icky feet for the time being.
Besides the dead skin coming off, my feet do feel softer so the product does work but it’s not a miracle worker where your feet just kind of shed skin. I didn’t like the smell at all so it’s a good thing the masks go on your feet, far far away from your nose. I saw videos on YouTube about peeling masks like the ones I used and I was curious to try them out. If you’re wanting to try them out I think you should because it’s a fun experience, but I do think they’re too expensive to keep using them on a regular base. I got them for £ 10.
A few tips when using them: take off your nail polish because it will smudge all over and take note of the 3-4 days waiting time to see results. So don’t pop them on a few days before a big event because chances are your feet are still peeling and I bet you don’t want to see that in your pretty sandals. Yuck!
If you have any fun or great masks to try out, let me know! I’m very interested in trying them on.
